The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana.

As part of Regional Waiver Operations, you’ll help oversee statewide Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver programs that empower individuals to live safely and independently in their communities. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to support program operations, ensure quality and compliance, provide technical assistance, and help connect individuals with vital long-term care resources. This position may be filled in the following parish(es): EAST BATON ROUGE A current Louisiana license in a health services field, health regulation field, or social services field plus two years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services; OR

A bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services; OR

A master's degree in a health services field, health regulation field, or a social services field plus one year of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services.   • Oversees the administration and delivery of the Community Choices Waiver (CCW) and Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) Waiver programs within Regional Waiver Operations.

  • Monitors regional waiver operations to ensure services are delivered efficiently, effectively, and in accordance with program rules and requirements.

  • Provides programmatic oversight, technical assistance, training, and guidance to regional staff and waiver stakeholders to support quality service delivery.

  • Reviews and coordinates Nursing Facility Level of Care (LOC) determinations for Nursing Facility Continued Stay Requests and participants in the My Choice Louisiana program.

  • Serves as the Local Contact Agency for the MDS 3.0 Section Q process by coordinating referrals, assessing eligibility, facilitating waiver offers, and connecting individuals with community resources.

  • Monitors Support Coordination Agencies (SCAs) to evaluate service quality, program compliance, and effectiveness in meeting participant needs.

  • Provides technical assistance and support to Direct Service Providers (DSPs) and Support Coordination Agencies (SCAs) and identifies opportunities to improve program operations and participant services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with Home and Community Based Services.
