Overview

As a Software Engineer II, you'll help design, build, and support applications that power critical business functions across the firm. Working closely with business partners, analysts, and fellow developers, you'll contribute to the development of scalable software solutions while supporting and enhancing existing systems.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating across teams, and continuously expanding their technical expertise in modern application development technologies.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, test, and implement software applications and enhancements.

  • Collaborate with business partners and analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions.

  • Develop and maintain web applications using modern development frameworks and technologies.

  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, including root cause analysis.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, estimates, and implementation plans.

  • Participate in Agile development activities and support continuous improvement efforts.

  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing within the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of Java development experience.

  • Experience developing and supporting web-based applications.

  • Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and relational or NoSQL databases.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with one or more of the following:

  • React, JavaScript, jQuery, Thymeleaf, or Unqork

  • MongoDB, Oracle Database, or Kafka

  • JUnit, Selenium, or SoapUI

  • Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, DevOps, or Agile methodologies

  • Microservices architecture and Spring Batch

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
