Description:

- Installs the following: high voltage connectors, transformers and switches, securing equipment and cables and various service lines, power poles, open phase systems and insulated systems, meters and metering devices.
- Mounts hardware.
- Performs maintenance on switches and other high line equipment.
- Operates boom trucks, bucket trucks, etc.
- Operates power-driven machinery such as hydraulic compression pumps, chain saws, etc.
- Removes broken or defective conductors.
- Ensures routine preventive maintenance is performed according to established schedules.
- Performs all other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment, insuring that all tools and material are kept clean, orderly and in good working condition.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years refinery electrical experience, specifically as an Electrical Line Tech required.
- Experience working on live conductors required.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics required.
- Experience troubleshooting aerial feeder problems required.
- Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Port Arthur Refinery, required.
