Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Intermediate QA Inspector to support federal construction projects at West Point, NY for one of our largest customers. This individual will provide on-site quality assurance oversight, monitor contractor performance, review project documentation, and ensure construction activities comply with contract requirements, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. The QA Inspector will serve as an extension of the Government team, supporting project delivery through inspections, technical reviews, reporting, and documentation management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily field observations of construction activities and submit detailed QA reports documenting progress, deficiencies, corrective actions, and quality concerns.
  • Witness and document quality control testing activities and provide timely reporting of results and observations.
  • Review contractor daily reports, schedules, progress payment applications, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and other contract documents.
  • Conduct technical reviews of construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for compliance, constructability, and quality concerns.
  • Provide written recommendations regarding contract interpretation, quality issues, and potential corrective actions.
  • Monitor site safety compliance and document health and safety non-conformances.
  • Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes, action items, and follow-up documentation.
  • Assist with project closeout activities, including punch list management, pre-final inspections, and final inspections.
  • Maintain project records and input documentation into USACE RMS and/or CMP systems.
  • Support cost reviews, schedule reviews, and technical evaluations of contractor change proposals.

Skills and Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of construction industry experience.
  • Experience performing quality assurance, quality control, field inspections, construction management, or project engineering activities.
  • Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, schedules, documentation, and contract administration.
  • Ability to prepare detailed technical reports and communicate findings effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction documentation systems.
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation and obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Experience supporting federal construction projects.
  • Familiarity with USACE standards, processes, and RMS documentation systems.
  • Experience reviewing RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, and pay applications.
  • Background in military, government, institutional, vertical construction, or infrastructure projects.
