Mental Health Professional I (Charleston-Dorchester MHC) School-Based

This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Charleston-Dorchester Mental Health Center, 2100 Charlie Hall Blvd, Charleston, SC 29414. Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional I:

• Provide quality person-centered care as demonstrated by the use of evidence-based clinical interventions.

• Provide Family Therapy.

• Provide all form of direct services as credentialed by the Center in an efficient manner as evidenced by meeting the established productivity exception.

• Documentation is reflective of the quality care expected of this position.

• Retain overall responsibility for meeting Quality Assurance standards.

• Ensure timely response to requests for services.

• Attend all trainings classified mandatory in Federal and State regulations and center policy.

• Comply with all OMH/CDMHC/BHDD policies and protocols, and all applicable Quality assurance, corporate compliance and cultural competence, and CARF policies, procedures and regulations and all Federal and State law.

• Demonstrate recognition of importance of collaboration and teamwork within the Center and the community.

• Ensure patient functionality is measured according to established standards.

• A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.

Additional Requirements:• Ability to bend, stoop, drive from location to location, lift and file.

• Require a valid SC driver's license and may require some travel for training.

• Follow all established s (BHDDOMH) Behavior Health and Developmental Disabilities policies and procedures.

• Doctorate degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling or other behavior discipline deemed equivalent by (BHDDOMH)Behavior Health and Developmental Disabilities Office of Mental Health.

• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Post hire, employees must:• Have knowledge of Mental Health legal principles and practices of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling and psychopathy and patient management in a psychiatric setting.

• Have knowledge of basic health and welfare services provided by other agencies.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and manage complex treatment.
• Ability to exercise discretion in interpreting and apply establish objectives.
• Ability to conduct detailed assessments, draw conclusions and recommend required actions.
