Electrical Engineering Technician

Location: West Sayville, NY 11796

We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician to support testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation of cutting-edge electronic products and systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated technician with hands-on experience using electrical test equipment and a strong understanding of engineering principles. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering laboratory environment supporting innovative technologies and product development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate electrical test equipment to evaluate product, assembly, and system performance under simulated operating conditions.

  • Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on developmental products and prototypes.

  • Assemble electrical and electronic systems according to engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.

  • Document test procedures, results, observations, and analysis using Excel spreadsheets and internal reporting tools.

  • Troubleshoot and calibrate instruments, test setups, and associated fixtures.

  • Analyze test data and provide recommendations for corrective actions or improvements.

  • Follow laboratory procedures, safety requirements, operational documents, and work instructions.

  • Assist engineering teams with problem resolution before, during, and after product development and testing.

  • Maintain accurate records and archive test results for future reference.

  • Collaborate with team members and share knowledge of lab procedures and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology (BSET), Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or related technical discipline.

  • Experience using electrical test equipment, including:

  • Oscilloscopes

  • Voltmeters

  • Multimeters

  • Analyzers

  • Electrical probes

  • Other data acquisition and testing equipment

  • Ability to read and interpret:

  • Electrical schematics

  • Engineering drawings

  • Technical specifications

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.

  • Previous experience in an electrical test lab, engineering lab, internship, co-op, or related technical environment.

  • Understanding of engineering testing procedures and documentation practices.

  • Experience with prototype testing and product validation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WEST SAYVILLE, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
