Veronica E. Connor Middle School 7:25 AM to 2:25 PM

Salary:

BA Step 1 $49,447 or MA Step 1 $52,190 per GITA contract

Duties:

Veronica E. Connor Middle School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Science

teacher. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with special education teachers,

general education teachers, and related service providers to help students access grade-level

curriculum, build academic skills, and achieve success in the classroom.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS Teaching Certification General Science 7-12
Earth Science 7-12 Preferred

Qualifications Desired:

Prior teaching experience 7-8 desired
Familiarity with New York State P-12 Science Learning Standards and Next Generation Science Standards
Experience with iReady, IXL, and Khanmigo
Ability to use data driven instruction to improve student achievement
Ability to cooperate and collaborate with grade level teams, department teams, and special area teachers
Strong use of technology to support professional responsibilities; ability to integrate technology into instruction
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong work ethic
Provide an inclusive and engaging learning environment in an integrated co-taught classroom setting and provide differentiated instruction for special education and ENL students
Evidence of positive classroom management skills
