Job Title: BIM DesignerJob Description

As a BIM Designer, you will be responsible for BIM modeling, clash detection, design, and drafting. You will coordinate and manage Revit models, create and modify Revit families, and provide regular progress status reports to supervisors and project team members. You will review all work for errors before release and maintain standard work checklists to ensure consistency and quality. You will also identify training opportunities and areas for improvement, develop complete system designs in CAD or Revit, and execute assignments independently.

Responsibilities

  • BIM modeling, clash detection, design, and drafting.

  • Coordinate and manage Revit models.

  • Create, modify, and update Revit families.

  • Provide prompt and accurate progress status reports.

  • Review work for errors prior to release.

  • Create and maintain standard work checklists.

  • Identify training opportunities and areas for improvement.

  • Develop complete system designs in CAD or Revit.

  • Independently execute assignments and accurately identify product specifications.

  • Review work for accuracy and constructability.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Revit with 4+ years of professional experience.

  • Experience with BIM modeling, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and clash detection.

  • Ability to create construction documents and perform drafting.

  • Capability to read and understand construction drawings and details.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, BIM 360, and Bluebeam.

  • 3D model quantity extraction skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • AS, BS, or MS degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience with Navisworks.

  • Experience in a construction environment or AEC industry preferred.

  • Knowledge of basic construction processes, particularly overhead systems.

  • Highly preferred: Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in Revit.

Work Environment

The primary office is located in Addison, IL, with additional offices in Tampa, FL, and Arizona. The Addison office serves as the headquarters with approximately 30 employees and operates on a hybrid schedule of 4 days in-office and 1 day remote. The work environment is fast-paced and can be chaotic due to project demands. Projects are primarily in the healthcare sector, with occasional support for data center and special projects. The culture is dynamic, with opportunities for career advancement in BIM leadership, project engineering, and project management.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Addison, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $43.27/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
