Kipu is bettering the behavioral health landscape, helping treatment centers achieve the best outcomes and empowering patients and caregivers on every step of the recovery journey. Join us in our work to advance behavioral health care in our communities. Our innovative solutions support providers in treating addiction, eating disorders, and many other behavioral health conditions. Our EMR, CRM, and revenue cycle solutions help behavioral health facilities succeed in managing their patients' entire care journey, but it is through our people that we truly make a difference. Role Overview The Implementation Specialist II, EMR independently owns end-to-end implementations for behavioral health treatment centers on the Kipu EMR platform. You will lead discovery, translate clinical and operational requirements into configuration decisions, train end users, and drive accountability for timelines and deliverables. This role operates with minimal oversight and contributes to team quality through mentorship and process improvement. Key Responsibilities Discovery & Solution Design

  • Lead discovery conversations to identify client goals, clinical workflows, pain points, and constraints.
  • Translate client requirements into clear, actionable configuration decisions aligned with best practices.
  • Challenge misaligned or risky requests respectfully, explaining tradeoffs and downstream impacts.

Configuration & Data Quality

  • Configure workflows, forms, and settings accurately on the first pass, anticipating edge cases.
  • Troubleshoot configuration issues by identifying root causes rather than treating symptoms.
  • Validate data for completeness, accuracy, and consistency before import or configuration.

Client Training & Adoption

  • Deliver structured, goal-oriented training that prepares clients to use the system independently.
  • Equip client administrators to train their own teams on core workflows and processes.
  • Drive client accountability for tasks, timelines, and data deliverables.

Project Delivery & Risk Management

  • Own project documentation, ensuring records and project plans reflect reality.
  • Identify risks early and document them with clear descriptions, owners, and mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional partners when scope, risk, or complexity warrants it.

Go-Live Readiness & Adoption

  • Prepare clients for go-live by validating that all readiness criteria are genuinely met.
  • Support post-go-live adoption by driving engagement and tracking early usage milestones.
  • Contribute to process improvements and share learnings with peers and newer team members.

Qualifications Required

  • 2-4 years of experience implementing an EMR or 3+ years implementing other SaaS-based software products.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead discovery, configure systems, and train end users independently.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead structured client meetings and drive decisions.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing timelines.

Preferred

  • Experience in behavioral health, mental health, or addiction treatment settings.
  • Familiarity with project management and CRM tools such as Salesforce, Jira, or Smartsheet.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting newer team members.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Health, Dental, Vision, Disability, and Life Insurance.
  • Parental Leave.
  • Pet Insurance.
  • 401(K) with Company Match.
