Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations in a fast-paced, multi-union environment. This contract position requires a detail-oriented professional with hands-on Paylocity experience who can ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while navigating complex union agreements, deductions, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for union and non-union employees using Paylocity
-
Review and audit employee timecards, wage rates, shift differentials, overtime calculations, and payroll deductions
-
Administer payroll in accordance with multiple collective bargaining agreements
-
Process union dues, benefit contributions, garnishments, and other payroll deductions
-
Maintain employee payroll records and ensure payroll data integrity
-
Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end payroll accounting activities
-
Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
-
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
-
Support payroll audits and prepare requested documentation
-
Partner with HR, Accounting, and operations teams to ensure accurate employee data and payroll processing
Requirements
-
3+ years of payroll processing experience
-
Hands-on experience with Paylocity required
-
Experience processing payroll in a multi-union environment
-
Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, taxes, garnishments, and wage and hour laws
-
Ability to interpret and apply union contracts and pay rules accurately
-
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including payroll reporting and reconciliations
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
-
Excellent communication and customer service skills
-
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred
-
Experience with high-volume payroll processing
-
Background in manufacturing, transportation, construction, logistics, healthcare, or other unionized environments

Experience supporting payroll audits and year-end processing
