The Salvation Army MISSION STATEMENT:

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Maintain and clean up the area in and around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift

  • Appear neatly and cleanly dressed in suitable clothing as per The Salvation Army dress code policy

  • Courteously assist the donor in the receipt of donated items from the donor and provide receipt

  • Maintain all reports and paperwork as instructed by Supervisor

  • Separate and sort all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stack material as instructed by the Supervisor

  • Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations on to trucks as necessary

  • Inform the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (i.e.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.)

  • Must secure and lock Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift

  • Must be have flexible availability for scheduling purposes

  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School graduate or equivalent

  • Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and donors

  • Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.

  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects up to 75lbs. with or without assistance

  • Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
