Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a MILITARY FUNERAL HONOR PROGRAM COORDINATOR, Position Description Number D2023000 and is part of the KS Joint Forces Headquarters, National Guard.
Duties
As a MILITARY FUNERAL HONORS PROGRAM COORDINATOR, GS-0301-09, you will perform program development and the coordination of functions for the Military Funeral Honors Program (MFHP), which provides military funeral honor ceremonies for service members and veterans. The position serves as an agency coordinator for the statewide MFHP in promotion and coordination of the program through the education of the State's National Guard, active component, veteran's service organizations, and other Veteran's advocacy groups. Develops, implements, interprets, and publishes SOPs, policies, operating regulations, and procedures. Plan, develop, schedule, and makes recommendation for changes to MFHP. Responsible for creating a cooperative network of agencies, organizations, and individuals whose interactions can lead to an improved Military Funeral Honors Program. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements. Telework: ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK Qualifications
Military Grades: E-6 through O-3 Compatible Military Assignments: 00F/01A GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1 year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, providing technical guidance and assistance and a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices. Knowledge or training with Interpretation and development of SOP's, policies, procedures, and operating regulations, development and coordination of the training associated with the program, and coordinating the daily activities and functions of the program. The ability to continually analyzing and identifying problems with the administrative functions of the program.
