Job Description

The HR Generalist plays a key role in driving day-to-day HR operations, supporting employees across a variety of functions, and helping build an exceptional workplace culture. Based in Reno, NV, this role primarily supports essential processes from onboarding to off-boarding and ensuring seamless HR administrative execution. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist acts as a trusted operational partner to contribute directly to organizational efficiency and growth. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with regular benefits execution, open enrollment, and employee support related to benefits administration.

  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, including safety training, anti-harassment training, and workplace violence preparedness training, as well as leadership development initiatives.

  • Handle employment-related inquiries from candidates, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

  • Support talent acquisition efforts, including screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and candidate outreach.

  • Collaborate with the payroll department to ensure timely timesheet submissions and time off approvals, assist calculating hours worked, and other payroll-related projects.

  • Use AI to build departmental efficiencies and generate regular reporting metrics.

  • Lead the end-to-end onboarding experience for new hires and coordinate off-boarding administrative tasks for departing staff.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

1 to 3 years of previous experience in an HR Support, Assistant, or Generalist role.

  • Preferred: Proven track record supporting employee population remotely. Skills

  • Proficiency with Google platform (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.)

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational abilities, acute attention to detail, and agility to pivot between competing priorities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Working Conditions:

  • Position is based in a small office in Reno, NV, supporting a majority of employees remotely.

  • Hybrid work environment, working in the office a minimum of two (2) days per week

  • Minimal travel required. Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
