Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Technical Training Specialist for a 6-month contract position that is fully on-site. This role is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining technical and operational training programs that support safety, compliance, and workforce competency. The successful candidate will work closely with subject matter experts, operations personnel, and training coordinators to transform complex technical information, incident investigations, lessons learned, and site expectations into engaging and effective learning content. The role includes creating and delivering training through various formats, including instructor-led sessions, digital learning tools, assessments, videos, and AI-enabled learning solutions, while ensuring training programs remain current, compliant, and aligned with operational needs.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial environment such as Oil & Gas, Chemical Processing, Mining, or similar heavy industry.

  • Experience developing and delivering technical training programs for operations, maintenance, engineering, or safety personnel.

  • Strong ability to interpret complex technical information and convert it into clear, engaging learning materials.

  • Experience reviewing incident investigations, lessons learned, root cause analyses, and operational reports to develop training content and corrective action programs.

  • Knowledge of industrial operations, equipment, process chemistry, corrosion, safety systems, and compliance programs.

  • Experience creating a variety of training materials, including presentations, videos, assessments, quizzes, and instructor-led content.

  • Learning Management System (LMS) experience, including training administration and compliance tracking.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to evaluate training effectiveness and measure program outcomes.

  • Experience leading or coordinating a technical training group or learning and development function.

  • Experience overseeing operator training programs and competency management frameworks.

  • Familiarity with competency-based assessment programs and workforce development initiatives.

  • Knowledge of instructional design methodologies, curriculum development, adult learning principles, and the full training lifecycle.

  • Experience creating AI-enabled learning content, including video production, adaptive learning tools, and digital learning solutions.

  • Experience utilizing training analytics and performance metrics to measure learning effectiveness and return on investment (ROI).

  • Working knowledge of process plant operations and reliability programs.

  • Experience within ammonia, fertilizer, nitrogen-based processing, petrochemical, or related process manufacturing facilities.

  • Professional certifications related to training, learning and development, instructional design, or adult education.
