The Supply Planner is responsible for executing the end-to-end supply planning process for the Water division across assigned product lines or manufacturing sites.

As an active contributor to the SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) process, the Supply Planner collaborates closely with Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, and Commercial teams to align supply plans with customer demand and operational capabilities. The role focuses on balancing service, cost, and efficiency while proactively identifying risks and driving timely resolution.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and problem solver who thrives in a collaborative, matrixed environment and brings a continuous improvement mindset to enhance planning processes and supply chain performance.

This is a hybrid position based in Charlotte, NC working a hybrid schedule (in office 3x per week)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Supply Review in the monthly SIOP cycle , ensuring cross‑functional alignment on capacity, constraints, and supply strategies.

  • Develop a robust mid‑ and long‑range supply plan that aligns with forecasted demand, operational capacity, and inventory targets.

  • Partner closely with Demand Planning to ensure forecast‑to-supply alignment and support scenario planning or risk assessments.

  • Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, and Logistics to address constraints, support production sequencing, and ensure on‑time, to promise and requested date (OTP, OTR) performance.

  • Monitor and communicate supply chain KPIs (e.g., service levels, inventory health, production adherence, capacity utilization).

  • Identify risks and opportunities within the supply plan and facilitate cross‑functional decision‑making to resolve gaps.

  • Champion continuous improvement through system optimization, master data accuracy, standard work, and process enhancements.

  • Support new product introductions, network transitions, and global supply chain initiatives.

  • Model Xylem’s values by fostering collaboration, accountability, and a focus on customer impact.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical & Planning Skills

  • Strong knowledge of SIOP/S&OP/IBP frameworks , supply planning processes, and capacity management.

  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced planning tools.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into clear insights , scenario planning & recommendations

  • Understanding inventory optimization, safety stock strategies, and supply chain performance metrics.

  • Experience working in manufacturing environments with multi‑site or global supply chains.

Leadership & Behavioral Competencies

  • Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across cross‑functional teams.

  • Strong communication skills with an aptitude for simplifying complexity for stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated problem‑solving capability, with a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment with competing priorities.

  • Collaborative, team‑oriented, and aligned with Xylem’s values and mission.

Required Experience

  • 4 – 5+ years of experience in supply planning, production planning, or related supply chain roles.

  • Bachelor degree , Supply Chain Management preferred

  • Direct experience supporting or leading the SIOP process.

  • Experience in complex or global operations preferred.

  • Experience in ERP system like SAP, JDA

  • Prior leadership experience (direct or indirect) beneficial.

  • ASCM/APICS certifications (CPIM, CSCP) preferred.

The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000 plus bonus.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
