Workplace: Central State Hospital, Milledgeville, GA Shifts include:

  • 1st shift - 7am-3:30pm
  • 2nd shift - 3pm-11:30pm
  • 3rd shift - 11pm-7:30am (this shift is currently filled)

Job Summary: Under broad supervision, provides basic patient care and works with patients/clients to develop daily living skills. May take vital signs and perform other related medical procedures under the direction of nursing staff.   • Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Serves as a job expert or organization resource in assigned areas. May supervise and/or direct the work of others. Answer client’s call signals.
  • Conducts activities for recreation and socialization. Ensures safety and security of clients.
  • Observes and documents patient data, behavior and activity. Prepare clients for treatment or examination.
  • Transport and/or accompanies client to treatment units, using a wheelchair or stretcher. Turns and re-positions bedridden clients, alone or with assistance to prevent bed sores.

The following are a list of evaluations and vaccinations that may be required for employees, including those not involved with direct care:

  • Drug Screening
  • TB Evaluation
  • Annual Influenza*

*Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.
