Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Shipping and Receiving Clerk to coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with freight handling companies and major carriers. This role involves delivering materials to appropriate locations, managing inventory through barcode scanning and data entry, and maintaining organized shipping and receiving areas.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with freight handling companies and UPS/FedEx.

• Deliver materials to and from proper physical locations promptly and return unused material to inventory.

• Operate and perform barcode scanning and data entry into the ERP system for inventory tracking.

• Stack skids or pallets in designated areas, and clean up and dispose of scrap materials in proper containers.

• Assist the Truck Driver with loading and unloading.

• Package goods for shipment to customers and returns to vendors.

• Plan, monitor, and order all materials required for packaging.

• Perform pickups and deliveries using the company vehicle.

• Build, construct, and assemble industrial crates for shipping small parts and finished products.

• Assist other departments and perform additional tasks to meet customer and mission objectives.

• Participate in and implement continuous process improvement activities.

• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Recent experience of 2 years in Shipping and Receiving roles.

• Experience in picking orders.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Computer experience, with proficiency in any type of inventory system.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with inventory control systems.

• Familiarity with pick slip procedures.

Work Environment

The position is based in a plant manufacturing environment, working alongside a team of engineers in cubicles. The role operates on the 1st shift from 6 am to 3 pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wixom, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
