Full job description

Job Description

THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY OF $44,545.00.

The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement and programs for youth in the community.

The Division of Family Permanency Services (FPS) ensures that high-quality services are provided to children in foster care by supporting provider agency staff with technical assistance and other services for children in foster care. FPS staff offer guidance to provider agencies on child welfare policies and procedures to improve service delivery and achieve safety, permanency, and well-being for children in foster care.

ACS’ Office of Youth Success Services (OYSS) supports training, technical assistance, and capacity building for education, employment, and college access programs. The office works with ACS staff and contracted providers and staff to ensure that children and youth receive the education, career and college readiness, employment, and supportive services they need.

This position is focused in particular on supporting the employment and career readiness components of the OYSS portfolio to help ACS-involved youth prepare for and succeed in employment and careers. Under the direct supervision of the OYSS Program Manager with some latitude for independent judgement and initiative, the program associate is responsible for supporting the ACS Workforce Development team as they ensure a trauma-informed, person-centered, and strength-based approach is prioritized in our youth work force development programming.

The Program Associate provides vital administrative and operational support for our youth workforce development programs. A key responsibility is tracking and receiving referrals from strategic partners, ensuring that youth, parents, and foster agencies receive clear information about eligibility, and requirements to support a target youth participation rate of over 90% per enrollment cycle.

The Program Associate position will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Liaise with foster care, prevention services, and juvenile justice providers to collect timely feedback and updates for data tracking.

  • Help coordinate logistical details for employer luncheons, job fairs, and community outreach efforts.

  • Handle daily correspondence, routing emails and phone calls from partners, youth, and parents, and providing key program information as related to available workforce development programs.

  • Perform routine data entry across the workforce team maintaining internal tracking systems accurately and efficiently.

  • Prepare materials for and assist during presentations and tabling events onsite and at community-based organization locations.

  • Update and manage enrollment tracking databases, streamlining data entry for youth workforce programs to support monitoring program progress updates.

  • Coordinate and schedule workforce events for internal and externals partners. Liaise with support staff to coordinate scheduling of program activities, youth workshops, or outreach events.

  • Perform other related tasks as needed.
