Junior Cybersecurity Analyst

Job Description

The Security Operations Analyst will support the Data Protection Team and be responsible for executing and maintaining data security operational processes related to Database Activity Monitoring. This individual will monitor, analyze, and respond to information security risks, policy violations, and potential threats impacting critical database environments. The role works closely with Security Operations, Risk Management, and Engineering teams to strengthen security controls, improve program maturity, and enhance overall data protection capabilities.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong, self-motivated professional who enjoys solving complex problems, continuously learning, and contributing to the advancement of security operations and data protection initiatives. They should be passionate about cybersecurity, possess strong analytical skills, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
• Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, and ability to maintain detailed living documents.
• Build trusted relationships with peers and cross-functional teams.
• Experience communicating security concepts to business teams.
• Passion to design solutions to automate manual processes.
• Preferred - Relevant professional certification (CISA, CISSP, CIA or equivalent).
• Minimum of 1+ years Security Experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Data Protection concepts (e.g. Data Loss Prevention, Encryption, Data at Rest versus Data in Motion, Unstructured versus Structured data).
• Understanding of information security best practices and technologies.
• Experience with Python, SQL, and/or PowerShell strongly preferred.
• Analytical background and an analytical approach; especially with respect to event classification, event correlation, and root cause analysis.
