Description
We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support a solid privately held operation in Macomb County, Michigan. This role partners closely with leaders and employees to strengthen workplace practices, address employee concerns, and ensure HR programs align with business priorities. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, knowledge of employment regulations, and the ability to manage day-to-day HR administration while contributing to long-term workforce planning.
Responsibilities:

Advise supervisors and team members on HR matters, workplace policies, and employment-related questions while promoting consistent and fair practices.

Partner with leadership to identify future staffing needs, support workforce planning, and help shape personnel strategies and organizational goals.

Manage employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance concerns, termination reviews, and exit discussions with departing employees.

Conduct confidential workplace investigations involving sensitive employee issues and provide clear recommendations based on findings.

Oversee leave administration, including accommodation requests, return-to-work coordination, and transitional work arrangements.

Lead benefits-related activities such as open enrollment, employee communication, and program support throughout the year.

Deliver training for employees and managers on policies, procedures, benefits, and topics such as harassment prevention and discrimination awareness.

Maintain accurate employee data, payroll entries, and personnel records while supporting audits, verification requests, and regulatory compliance.

Assist with compensation-related processes including bonus administration, merit review support, year-end reporting, and budget planning activities.

Support recruiting, onboarding, and new employee safety orientation for candidates from both internal and external talent sources.
Requirements • Demonstrated experience in employee relations, HR administration, and day-to-day support across multiple human resources functions.

Working knowledge of employment laws, workplace compliance standards, and HR best practices.

Ability to manage onboarding, benefits administration, leave coordination, and payroll processing with a high level of accuracy.

Experience handling sensitive investigations, conflict resolution, and performance-related matters with professionalism and discretion.

Proficiency with HR and payroll systems, including ADP Workforce Now or similar platforms.

Strong communication and training skills with the ability to explain policies and procedures clearly to employees and managers.

Organized approach to recordkeeping, reporting, and compliance documentation in a regulated environment.
