FULFILLMENT BUYER, DATACENTERS (STARLINK)

Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation and is providing fast, reliable internet to 4M+ users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer receivers that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact and are looking for best-in-class engineers to help maximize Starlink’s utility for communities and businesses around the globe.

We are looking for individuals who can think outside the box to achieve company objectives regarding value and partnerships with our suppliers. Our organization moves quickly, and you must too. SpaceX has the unique ability and desire to influence and shape suppliers to be better with us as we challenge our supply chain on cost, quality and delivery. This Fulfillment Buyer within the Indirect Procurement team will support purchases for several Starlink locations. The Indirect Procurement team has aggressive objectives that positively impact our product and bottom line. We are looking for the right person who is equipped and ready for these challenges to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Issue purchase orders quickly and without error

• Ensure purchase orders are acknowledged by suppliers

• Obtain the original promise date from suppliers

• Review open order reports and manage deliveries

• Resolve invoice issues and ensure that vendors are paid on time

• Expedite parts as necessary

• Act as customer service for SpaceX internal customers

• Support buyers in cost savings initiatives

• Lead miscellaneous procurement projects

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree OR 4+ years of experience working in a supply chain or operations

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Purchasing experience, specifically related to Indirect buying

• Remarkable problem-solving skills with a bias for speed

• Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs

• Excellent customer service skills

• Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills

• Exceptional analytical and organizational skills

• Strong technical knowledge of MS Office Suite

• Ability to conduct all activities with the highest degree of integrity

• Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment

• Ability to type >50 WPM

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed

• Must be willing to travel to other sites as needed
