Job Description

We are seeking a Motor Control Design Engineer (Level 3-5) to support the development of advanced motion control systems used in precision military applications. This role will focus on the design, development, testing, and integration of motor control hardware and real-time control systems that drive precision antenna positioning and tracking solutions. The engineer will work throughout the entire product lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through design, integration, testing, and production support. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with servo systems, brushless motor drives, PCB design, analog/digital circuit development, and control system implementation. Key Responsibilities Design and develop motor control hardware for precision motion control applications. Support full product lifecycle activities from concept through production and sustainment. Design and analyze analog and digital circuitry for servo and motor drive systems. Develop and review printed circuit board (PCB) designs and schematics. Design and integrate brushless motor drive solutions. Implement and tune closed-loop control systems using PID control techniques. Support real-time control development and hardware integration activities. Develop interface control definitions and communication architectures. Integrate control hardware with larger system architectures. Troubleshoot electrical and control system performance issues in laboratory and field environments. Participate in design reviews, testing activities, and technical documentation development. Collaborate with systems, software, firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineering teams.

Skills and Requirements

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Experience designing motor control or servo control systems. Experience with brushless motor drive development. Experience designing printed circuit boards and electronic hardware. Experience creating analog and digital schematics. Experience with PID control loop development and tuning. Experience supporting hardware development through the full product lifecycle. Experience integrating hardware with larger electromechanical systems. Experience with real-time control systems. Strong troubleshooting and laboratory debugging skills. Ability to obtain a US security clearance Precision pointing, tracking, or stabilization system experience. Antenna positioning or gimbal control experience. Experience supporting military or aerospace platforms. Knowledge of lead-lag compensation and advanced control algorithms. Experience with interface control documentation and system integration. Experience with motion control applications requiring high pointing accuracy.
