The incumbent is responsible for sorting all incoming postal mail for BCBSMA locations located in Hingham and Boston as well as sorting and distributing interoffice mail when required. The incumbent assumes the supervisor role in the supervisor’s absence. The role will travel between the BCBSMA locations in Boston and Hingham and incumbent must be flexible for last minute location requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure the accurate and timely collection and delivery of all incoming, outgoing, and interoffice mail.

  • Ensure all Post Office Boxes (PO Box) and Business Reply Mail is sorted by PO Box and delivered to the appropriate area by the specified time required by the business area.

  • Sort both incoming USPS mail and interoffice mail by mail stop via manual sorting bins.

  • Ensure that all mail be delivered via courier service and is marked, labeled, and ready for pickup on time.

  • Ensure that all incoming and outgoing packages received in the courier window are logged in and out via the Arrival Tracking System.

  • Maintain tracking files for a variety of databases related to mail services.

  • Perform a variety of daily tasks related to Mail Services to support operations.

  • Maintain inventory for misc. equipment requirements through Vendor.

  • Order FedEx Supplies for Mail Services and Internal Customers through FedEx.

  • Create workflows for respective Mail Services locations as needed/requested.

  • Participate and ensure all letters and checks received from Accounting are processed and inserted daily via the table top inserter.

  • Other mail services tasks as requested

Qualifications (knowledge/skills/abilities/behaviors):

  • Demonstrated high standards for quality and integrity

  • Ability to work well in a fast paced fluid environment

  • Solid organizational skills with a focus on attention to detail

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Ability to work at both Hingham and Boston buildings

  • Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm. hours may vary depending on coverage needs. Work day could commence as early as 4:30 a.m.

Education/Relevant Experience: Number of years and type of experience. List in order of importance.

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent business experience

  • Mail Service experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications; Word, Excel, Access, Outlook

Hourly Range: $23.08 - $28.21

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
