Waterous is a privately owned South St. Paul manufacturer, around since 1886, that continues to instill confidence and trust with firefighters in the national and global markets served. JOB SUMMARY
The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives to drive growth and expand the market presence for Waterous fire pumps, foam systems, and compressed air foam systems (CAFS). This role involves managing sales within an assigned geographical territory, building strong relationships with OEM’s (when applicable), OEM Dealers and fire departments. The sales manager will focus on increasing year-over-year sales while ensuring profitability targets are met and aligning sales efforts with overall business objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and maintain a strategic sales plan tailored to the assigned territory and customers.

Develop and maintain relationships with OEM dealers, fire departments, and customers to drive long-term sales growth and customer loyalty.

Manage the sales process and provide technical assistance, ensuring smooth customer experience from initial inquiry to final purchase and after in service life.

Promote the sales of new products by collaborating with Sales and Marketing on targeted campaigns.

Stay informed on industry events by attending trade shows, special events and training sessions representing Waterous and strengthening brand presence.

Attend and display Waterous fire pump products at tradeshows/schools and OEM dealer meetings where applicable and upon approval of National Sales Manager.

Develop and maintain reporting systems to keep management informed of sales activities, market conditions, and customer needs.

Present verbal reports and prepare trip reports as needed to keep management apprised of activities.

Contribute actively to product development discussions by providing feedback to the Product Manager and National Sales Manager on customer needs, potential new product developments and market demands.

Participate in sales meetings and conference calls.

Provide weekly territory updates to management.

Provide monthly travel and business plans to management.

Keep the shared calendar current at all times.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records in CRM database (Salesforce) with all pertinent and important information such as visit trip reports and current contacts.

Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of competitive products and industry trends.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree in business with technical aptitude, or BS in engineering preferred.

Minimum of 5+ years outside sales experience working with dealers and/or end users in the industrial marketplace, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Proven experience in territory sales, preferably in the fire service industry or flow products helpful.

Firefighting and or Fire Fleet Management experience is desirable.

Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills to effectively engage with customers.

Proficiency in business software applications, Salesforce preferred.

Ability to travel 30 to 40 percent of the time, including weekends, with domestic required and ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Hands-on ability to demonstrate pump and foam products to customers.
