Full job description

Role: Marketing Communications Manager Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India — On-site Employment type: Full-time Industry: Defense & Space Manufacturing

About Catalyx Space We’re building AWS for space - providing in-space experiments and tech demos across LEO, deep space, and lunar orbit. Our offerings include unmanned labs, testbeds for rideshare and dedicated missions, and re-entry capsules for payload return. We simplify access with end-to-end solutions, no minimum mass limits, zero integration fees, and fast deployment (≤6 months), serving biopharma, semiconductors, materials science, defense, and more.

Role: The Marketing & Communications team is how Catalyx tells its story to the market. We build the narrative, run the channels, and keep content sharp and consistent. We are looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to own that story and the function behind it. This is a high-ownership role for someone who is both an operator and a storyteller. You will build the marketing engine from the ground up, define the systems and standards that keep communications moving forward, lead a team of content creators, and shape the strategy that ties marketing to commercial and fundraising goals. You will work directly with the COO and founders.

Key responsibilities:

Marketing Operations & Campaigns:

  • Own marketing and communications campaigns across the newsletter, website, LinkedIn, Instagram, and X
  • Keep campaigns consistent, on-brand, and on schedule
  • Build workflows, calendars, and review-and-approval processes that allow the function to run reliably and provide visibility to leadership
  • Set and maintain quality standards across written and visual content

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and develop a team of content creators, setting priorities, KPIs, and operating cadence
  • Manage workload, feedback, and growth to ensure consistent, high-quality output

Strategy & Commercial:

  • Shape marketing strategy and connect it to commercial and go-to-market goals
  • Support live deals and fundraising with narrative and collateral, including investor materials and customer-facing content
  • Define and maintain clear positioning and messaging for a deep-tech company across external communications

Technical Storytelling:

  • Translate complex work across re-entry, thermal protection, and hypersonic defense into clear, credible stories for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Partner with founders and engineering teams to ensure technical accuracy and consistency of voice across channels

Measurement & Systems:

  • Define success metrics for each channel, measure performance, and report progress
  • Own the marketing stack and consolidate reporting across platforms

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5–6 years of experience in marketing or communications, including experience leading people and managing marketing budgets
  • Experience in fast-moving startup environments and comfort building systems from scratch
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to make technical subjects clear and compelling
  • Proven experience running multi-channel campaigns across newsletter, web, and social media
  • Strong execution discipline, including processes, calendars, KPIs, and review systems
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders including founders, investors, and customers
  • Experience managing external agencies and contractors
  • Comfort working across marketing platforms, tools, and reporting systems
  • Strong curiosity for technical subject matter and the ability to go deep quickly

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to deep-tech, hardware, defense, or aerospace sectors
  • A strong visual/design sense or hands-on experience with content and analytics tools

Why join us:

  • Own the marketing function of a space-tech company and help build it from the ground up
  • Work directly with the COO and founders across strategy, narrative, and go-to-market
  • Tell stories that very few companies can tell, around hardware built for extreme spaceflight environments

Compensation & benefits:

  • Competitive salary (details will be shared with shortlisted candidates),
  • health insurance
  • Provident fund.
