POSITION DETAILS

Part-time with benefits; 40 hours per two week pay period; primarily Monday through Friday, day time hours between 8am and 5pm but flexibility to work evenings, weekends or as needed by the department is required.

JOB SUMMARY

Coordinates planning, development, and delivery of health and wellness education programs and materials for Community Outreach.

MAJOR JOB FUNCTION

  • Prepares and executes Community Outreach programs; duties to include but not limited to giving presentations, creating display boards and related handouts.

  • Conducts training to include, but not limited to, First Aid, CPR, Blood Borne Pathogen, and babysitting.

  • Creates newsletters, brochures and other handouts as needed for presentations and events by using various programs as needed.

  • Assists with community needs assessment, community projects, and special events for the department, hospital and community.

  • Assists with health screenings as needed.

  • Communicates in a timely and appropriate manner with Marketing Director in regard to issues/concerns, needs and progress.

  • Participates in and helps prepare special events to include but not limited to National Night Out, Senior Aging Expo, Women’s and Men’s Health Night(s), and other health fairs.

  • Must be able to work outside of regular business hours when necessary to meet the needs of the department and the community; scheduling flexibility required.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

GENERAL REQUIREMENT

Must comply with and uphold Tomah Health’s Standards of Behavior at all times. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred, in Public Health or Community Health Education, communications, marketing, hospitality or related field.

  • Event planning / organizing experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience developing digital communication and marketing campaigns that effectively engage, inform, and motivate target audiences.

  • Instructor Certifications for CPR/AED & First Aid and Safe Sitter Class required on hire or must be completed within 6 months of hire.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Solid knowledge of basic design software for creation of event fliers, mailers and communications.

  • Excellent human relation skills as demonstrated by the ability to interface positively with all customers and employees.

  • Must have a high energy level with ability to work under stress and exhibit emotional maturity, stability and flexibility.

  • Needs to possess a high level of intelligence, integrity, sense of responsibility and ability to comprehend and analyze details.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Duties require normal vision and hearing for both telephone/customer service and computer work.

  • Frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms and is required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel and crouch.

  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

  • Position involves frequent prolonged typing while sitting in one position for prolonged periods.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must understand and accept the possibility of exposure to inside environmental conditions, such as infectious/communicable diseases, noise, blood and bloodborne diseases, chemicals and/or chemical fumes, odors, gases, and dusts. Must be able to function effectively under stressful situations. The environment is climate controlled.
