About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Enterprise Middleware and Online Security Technology team. In this role, you will design, develop, and support secure authentication solutions for enterprise web applications, including Passwordless Login and Risk-Based Authentication. You will work closely with product, security, fraud, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and user-friendly identity solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and support enterprise web applications and authentication services.

  • Build secure authentication experiences, including Passwordless Login and Risk-Based Authentication solutions.

  • Develop and consume REST APIs and microservices using modern architecture patterns.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, estimate effort, and deliver features on schedule.

  • Maintain high standards for code quality, automated testing, security, and CI/CD practices.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a strong sense of ownership.

  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and mentoring team members.

  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve coding efficiency, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.

  • Validate AI-generated code and recommendations to ensure security, quality, and maintainability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of software development experience with:

  • Java

  • JavaScript

  • Modern web frameworks (Angular preferred)

  • Experience building secure web applications and REST APIs.

  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and service-based architectures.

  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Karma, Cucumber, or similar tools.

  • Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or comparable databases.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, secure coding practices, and software quality tools.

  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, or similar platforms.

  • Understanding of OAuth, SAML, JWT, and modern authentication technologies.

  • Experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Passwordless Authentication, FIDO2, WebAuthn, or Passkeys.

  • Knowledge of Risk-Based Authentication and adaptive access controls.

  • Experience deploying applications to AWS, GCP, or similar cloud platforms.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD and security tools such as GitHub Actions, Sonar, Veracode, or Black Duck.

  • Knowledge of NIST identity standards.

  • Experience in performance testing and optimization.

  • Experience applying AI-assisted development practices within enterprise environments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Austin, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $67.00 - $69.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
