Job Description
The System Offices is one of several system members within the Texas A&M University System representing one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a network of 12 universities, a comprehensive health science center, eight state agencies, Texas A&M – Fort Worth and the Texas A&M - RELLIS Campus. Job Description Summary:
The Senior Research Development Officer provides strategic leadership for large-scale research development initiatives across TAMUS member institutions. The position serves as a senior advisor to faculty, research leadership, and institutional stakeholders to increase competitiveness for federal, foundation, industry, and philanthropic funding opportunities.
Responsibilities:- Draft, edit, and refine proposal narratives for federal, foundation, and industry sponsors.

Collaborate with faculty to articulate compelling research impact, innovation, and broader impacts.

Review proposals for compliance with sponsor guidelines and evaluation criteria.

Develop boilerplate content, institutional descriptions, and shared proposal resources.

Coordinate proposal timelines and writing schedules.

Provide writing workshops and grantsmanship training.

Support development of white papers, concept papers, and strategic research communications.

Maintain quality assurance processes for major proposal submissions.

Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:- Master's degree.- Four years of grant writing, scientific editing, or research communications experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Demonstrated success with funded federal proposals.

Exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills.

Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.- Verbal and written communication skills.

Organizational skills.

Ability to independently make decisions.

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree.
