Full job description

The Physical Therapy Department on the Manhattan campus is seeking a per diem Physical Therapist (PT) to join our team! The need is for day, evening and weekend coverage,

Job Summary:

Under general supervision of the PT Supervisor/Rehab Director , the PT provides physical therapy treatment and rehabiltation, as prescribed. This includes scheduling of patients, staff and new admissions as well as hands on treatments/ evaluations in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values of the The New Jewish Home.

Job Duties:

  • Evaluate and treat residents/patients with disabilities, disorders, and injuries to relieve pain, develop or restore function and maintain maximum performance level.

  • Directs residents/patients in care and use of wheelchairs, canes, braces, crutches, prosthetic and orthotic devises.

  • Keeps records of treatments given and resident's/patient's response and progress.

  • Consults with Physicians, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Social Workers and other clinical staff , to coordinate treatments for individual residents/patients.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • BS in Physical Therapy required , Master’s Degree/Doctorate in Physical Therapy preferred.

  • Current NY State Physical Therapist License required.

  • Previous geriatric experience preferred.

  • Skills with EMR(HM4 is used) and Microsoft office
