Northrop Grumman Space Systems is a strategic partner specializing in delivering intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance solutions for classified and unclassified missions in space. Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Linthicum, MD is seeking a MATLAB software developer to support the RADAR Tasking Model (RTM) for our development, production, and operational Space RADAR Payload programs.

RTM is a suite of software designed to identify opportunities for requested on-orbit payload tasking and to generate the required commanding inputs to command the Space Radar Payload.

As a member of the RTM team, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of RTM software in Object Oriented MATLAB.

This position is on-site in a classified program area in Linthicum, Maryland.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in STEM with 12 years relevant experience or 10 years with MS or 7 years with PhD

  • Operational Radar knowledge and experience is required

  • Proficient in MATLAB programming for modeling

  • Object Oriented programming experience, ideally with MATLAB, but C++ and/or Java is acceptable

  • Must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.

Our Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)

  • Experience with operational Space Sensor Payloads

  • Experience with RADAR modeling in MATLAB

  • BS and/or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Math

  • Active SCI access/approval

Primary Level Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $244,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
