Structural Welder

Pay: $24–$32 per hour (based on experience)

Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday (occasional Saturdays)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Welder to join our fabrication team in Cocoa, FL. In this role, you will produce high‑quality, code‑compliant structural steel components for large‑scale construction projects. This position is ideal for welders who take pride in craftsmanship, safety, and precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review fabrication drawings, work orders, weld symbols, and welding procedures before starting work

  • Set up welding equipment and verify materials, joint fit‑up, and alignment

  • Perform structural welds on carbon steel using Flux‑Cored (FCAW) processes

  • Weld in multiple positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead)

  • Control weld penetration, bead profile, and heat input to prevent distortion

  • Clean welds, remove slag, and perform basic grinding or touch‑ups as needed

  • Conduct self‑inspections to ensure weld quality and code compliance

  • Work closely with fitters, supervisors, and quality personnel to resolve issues

  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and hot‑work practices

  • Prepare completed assemblies for inspection, coating, or shipment

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 1+ year of recent welding experience (structural steel preferred)

  • Hands‑on experience welding carbon steel components

  • Ability to produce consistent, repeatable, code‑compliant welds

  • Strong understanding of joint types, weld sizes, and structural connections

  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and weld symbols

  • Understanding of how weld quality impacts structural integrity

  • Comfortable following written work instructions and welding procedures

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cocoa, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
