Salary: $17.50 Hourly

Baker

What You’ll Do

  • Bake pies, cakes, pastries, breads, rolls, biscuits, and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards

  • Prepare and decorate baked items with precision, creativity, and consistency

  • Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef with developing and testing recipes for bakery products

  • Maintain baking equipment and ensure all tools and workstations are clean, organized, and fully operational

  • Order and stock baking ingredients and supplies under the supervision of the Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef

  • Rotate inventory and monitor freshness and quality of baked goods and ingredients

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area in full compliance with State Health Regulations

  • Work collaboratively with culinary team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely product availability

What We’re Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Associate degree or certification in Baking or Culinary Management preferred

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a full-service baker

  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, proofing, and par-baked products

  • Proficiency in frosting, finishing, and decorating cakes and pastries

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality

  • Strong understanding of local and New York State health and sanitation codes

  • ServSafe Certification preferred

  • Passion for baking, creativity, organization, and attention to detail

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in a busy kitchen environment for extended periods

  • Ability to safely work around baking and kitchen equipment

  • Close, distance, color, and peripheral vision abilities required
