Description
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and within the community.
Our Hoyt residence, conveniently located in Port Ewen – just outside of Kingston, is the bright and cheerful home to six ladies and one gentleman.
This home, with views of the beautiful Hudson River, has a large back deck where everyone can enjoy cookouts and fun outdoor activities. The people who live at Hoyt love to be out and about, and around town – which means that as an employee, you may find yourself on a trip to the movie theater or enjoying the fare at a local restaurant.
The ladies and gentleman at Hoyt really do enjoy craft projects, and love the staff to be involved! They also love to go shopping, plan parties and play music.
The people who live at Hoyt enjoy getting to know new staff, and quickly include them in all of the fun. If you are new to the field of Human Services, or you are seeking an opportunity where you can enrich the lives of others while also having fun at work. Hoyt is a great choice!
A high school diploma or GED is desired. Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus. An acceptable NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge are a must. An informative, paid new hire orientation is provided in a comfortable learning environment. Training will also include Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration certification.
HOURS: On-call/as needed
STARTING SALARY: $ 18.26 to $ 20.09 per hour, with additional shift differentials as applicable
