Job Title: Picker Operator

Job Description

Join a busy agricultural parts distribution center in Rock Island as a Picker Operator, where you will support the accurate picking, packing, and movement of a wide range of parts used in equipment such as combines and tractors. You will work primarily on your feet in a warehouse environment, using RF scanners and material handling equipment to ensure orders are correctly sorted, palletized, and prepared for shipment.

Responsibilities

  • Sort boxes and place them in the correct pick pallet for forklift operators to retrieve and move.

  • Pick and pack products of various sizes, spending approximately 70% of the shift on picking and packing tasks.

  • Handle products ranging from small, hand-held boxes to heavy machine parts weighing up to one thousand pounds, using lifts and appropriate material handling equipment when required.

  • Utilize an RF scanner to accurately locate, identify, and track inventory and orders within the warehouse.

  • Load and unload semi-trailers with completed pallets, ensuring loads are stable, secure, and properly labeled.

  • Perform general warehouse duties including palletizing, labeling, assembly, shipping support, and basic material handling.

  • Follow established quality and inventory control procedures to maintain accurate warehouse inventory and prevent shipping errors.

  • Support order picking and packaging processes to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with facility safety guidelines.

  • Work mandatory overtime as needed to meet operational demands, while maintaining a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6 months of warehouse experience.

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds safely and repeatedly as needed.

  • Comfort working on your feet for the majority of the shift.

  • Experience with general warehouse tasks such as picking, packing, and material handling.

  • Ability to use or quickly learn RF scanners for inventory and order picking.

  • Willingness and ability to work mandatory overtime when required.

  • Strong attention to detail to prevent picking, packing, and shipping errors.

  • Reliability and consistency in following established quality and safety procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with packing, packaging, and palletizing in a production or warehouse environment.

  • Experience supporting shipping operations and basic assembly tasks within a warehouse.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rock Island, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
