Job Summary:

The Sr Engineer, Helium Technical Management will support the substantial helium business at Messer. This role will own and develop standard procedures, designs and support for the teams in the field. This role is critical in maintaining profitability through efficient use of our resources.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Technical support for Liquid Helium ISO containers

o Ensure adherence to the required refurbishment and maintenance schedules and programs.

o Identifying problems and trouble-shoot issues with ISO's at Messer sites and customers sites

o Use ISO tracking and chassis tracking software systems at an expert level to improve management of these asset fleets

  • Technical support for Messer transfill plant network in the USA

o Implement and leverage best practices for helium movement throughout the plants.

o Advise on standard designs for installations for new transfills and customer sites

o Support safe operations

  • Technical Support for affiliate's transfills, containers, and tube trailers to enable safe, efficient, and reliable operations

  • Technical support for Otis production location, particularly in areas related to ISO and Tube trailer filling, operation and maintenance

  • Technical support for customers' bulk sites

  • Approve technical procedures -sign off of procedures regarding operation of transfill sites and customer installations

  • Evaluate helium losses and recommend best practices to reduce losses throughout the supply chain.

Required Skills:

  • Technical skills in engineering

  • Understanding of P&ID's and operating procedures

  • Technical understanding of cryogenic liquids and related eqipment

  • Operational Skills - experience in working in operations

  • Analytical & problem-solving skills

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Engineering - -preference for Mechanical or Chemical

  • 5-10 years work experience post degree ideally in cryogenic related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in industrial gas industry is preferred

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $146,000. Messer provides medical, dental, vision, short term disability, life insurance and paid time off as well as other voluntary benefits, such as, long term disability in accordance with the terms and conditions of these Plans. Employees are eligible to enroll in Messer's 401(k) Plan. Employees may be eligible to participate in the company's bonus program.
