Full Stack Java Developer

Job Description

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer to help build the next generation of AI-powered video, audio, image, and document capture capabilities within our digital reporting platform. This individual will play a hands-on role in designing, developing, and enhancing both frontend and backend applications that enable users to securely capture, process, and extract insights from media content in real time. On a daily basis, you will develop scalable Java Spring Boot microservices and modern React applications that support intelligent workflows powered by Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Speech, and other cognitive services. You'll build and maintain APIs, integrate cloud-native Azure services, and contribute to solutions that process and store video, audio, image, and document data securely and efficiently. This role involves close collaboration with product managers, UX designers, cloud engineers, and fellow developers to deliver new features from concept through production. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building highly performant applications, and leveraging emerging AI technologies to create meaningful user experiences. Pay will range between $50 - $70/hr.

Skills and Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including enterprise application design and development.

 • 8+ years of hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot, including designing and implementing microservices architectures.

 • 8+ years of experience with React and modern front-end architectures, including component-based design and state management frameworks.

 • Experience with Node.js for backend services and integrations

 • Experience developing and deploying applications within Microsoft Azure

 • Hands-on experience with Azure services such as App Services, Storage, Functions, AKS, or containerized environments

 • Experience integrating with AI services such as Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Speech, OpenAI APIs, or similar AI/ML platforms

 • Experience designing and building scalable, secure cloud-native applications

 • Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, API design, and event-driven architectures

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, automated testing, and modern software development practices • Experience building solutions involving video, audio, image, or document processing

 • Experience with Kafka, Azure Event Hub, WebSockets, or other real-time messaging technologies

 • Experience with Kubernetes (AKS), Docker, and container orchestration

 • Experience with Terraform, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Infrastructure-as-Code tools

 • Experience designing AI-powered or Generative AI solutions

 • Experience within highly regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, government, or public safety

Previous experience serving as a Technical Lead or Solution Architect
