Full job description
The Business Manager is responsible for all of the financial aspects of the School; payroll, payables, accounting, budgeting, and reporting, program management (including after school program, Title funds, etc.) and coordination of the School's benefits programs.
Ensure that the school's internal controls policies meet NYSED's fiscal renewal, benchmarks, and execution:

Monitor all financial activity and cash assets

Record and track income and expenses related to all contracts, grants and programs including federal entitlements.

Review and maintain the general ledger and subsidiary journals to support financial activities.

Prepare vendor checks for the Executive Director and other account signatories to sign.

Reconcile the bank accounts each month.

Provide accurate cash statements and budget-to-actuals reports each month.

Support the Executive Director by drafting annual and long-term budgets.

Ensure that the school is prepared for a successful independent annual audit by maintaining appropriate audit trails.
Ensure that the school's staff members have appropriate materials, consistent with established budget, timelines, and procurement policies.

Work with Director of Operations to supervise all logistics related to purchasing.

Coordinate staff enrollment in schools benefit program with consultants.

Liaise with vendors and research alternative to improve efficiency and quality of service.

Complete other duties as necessary or requested by the Director of Operations.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, with course work in business administration, finance, or related discipline desired.

A minimum of three to five years of experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably involving data, computer information systems, and organizational procedures.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Mastery in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, and QuickBooks.

Attention to detail necessary.
Timeframe and Compensation

Office hours are from 8:00am-5:00pm. Summer hours are flexible, and outcomes based.

Evening and early morning hours are required periodically for special events or meetings.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
