SAFH-Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital

Position Overview:

Provides functional guidance to staff and new hires. Monitors status of assigned areas. Maintains a clean, attractive and safe environment by performing appropriate cleaning duties. Performs patient transportation and or lift services. May transport monitored telemetry patients if the BCM class is taken and passed, and the required training provided by Nursing education is completed. Assists nursing with dressing changes and transports deceased patients to the morgue.

Job Description :

EDUCATION Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

BCM certification to transport monitored patients preferred.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

Prior experience in a patient care setting. BCM certification is preferred.

Prior experience as an EVS technician and/or patient escort in a healthcare setting is required. Leadership experience is preferred.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Must have knowledge of proper body mechanics, safe transfer techniques, and safe operation of a variety of lifting, moving, and transporting equipment.

If BCM certified must be able to interpret rhythm strips accurately. Knowledge of healthcare equipment and cleaning chemicals is required.

Physical and emotional maturity required for the high degree of judgment and diplomacy necessary to work efficiently in a healthcare environment.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to handle multiple requests and prioritize.

Monitor tech transporters must be able to recognize and interpret EKG strips and respond appropriately if there is a problem.

Lift team must be able to assist with bariatric patient dressing changes that can require them to hold a patient in the same position for over one hour.

Pay Range is $26.24 to $31.95 / hour

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
