Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic plays a crucial role in the installation, modification, design, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment and machinery used in manufacturing and building operations. This senior position is responsible for performing routine duties, utilizing mechanical, electrical, and PLC/controls skills to ensure the operation and safety of assigned equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the diagnosis and repair of all assigned department equipment under minimal supervision.

  • Identify, implement, and exercise independent judgment within established guidelines for preventative maintenance.

  • Determine the course of action needed when on-shift issues arise affecting production operations or safety.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.

  • Troubleshoot furnace operations through Siemens PLC.

  • Assist senior Maintenance Technician and Maintenance Manager in directing MMIs and work activities.

Essential Skills

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment in a technical role.

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing semi or fully automated equipment.

  • Proficiency in communication in English, both written and oral.

  • Ability to observe, analyze, and interpret situations to solve problems with mechanical and electrical equipment/machinery.

  • Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting Siemens PLC hardware and software.

  • Skillful use of a digital multimeter (DMM) for troubleshooting.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage changing tasks and duties.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Some technical training or coursework in industrial equipment engineering and troubleshooting through technical school or trade experience is highly desired.

  • Equivalent combination of education, experience, and knowledge may substitute up to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment.

Work Environment

The work environment is an industrial manufacturing plant setting. There are two shifts available: Swing Shift from Tuesday to Saturday, 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, and Grave Shift from Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 pm to 6:30 am, both with differential pay.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WILSONVILLE, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
