Full job description

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Housekeeping Tech to join our Environmental Services Department!

This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout the medical center by performing routine cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting tasks in assigned areas. The role includes supporting patient care operations by assisting with room turnover following acute care discharges, as well as conducting thorough cleaning in surgical and emergency areas during high-demand periods. The position requires flexibility and teamwork, with the ability to float between departments as needed and complete deep cleaning projects during low census periods. Additionally, the role involves maintaining and properly using housekeeping equipment and supplies, while ensuring all tools are cleaned, serviced, and in good working condition.

Major Job Duties & Responsibilities

Employee completes all assigned duties with thoroughness and accuracy.

Assignments are completed in a timely and professional manner, while paying attention to detail.

Adapts to changing rules and regulations in the Environmental Services Department, understanding and using current technology as related to the position.

Maintains utility and janitor closet areas in a clean and orderly manner.

Cleans and restocks supplies of housekeeping cart at the end of each shift.

Keeps all EVS equipment cleaned, stored properly and reports all equipment failures or problems appropriately.

Uses chemicals appropriately.

Refills all necessary supplies and dispensers as required.

Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Follows departmental dress code policy.

Completes the annual Healthstream annual education courses on time.

Utilizes attendance systems per organizational and departmental guidelines and maintains prompt and regular attendance.

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

Knowledge of commercial cleaners and equipment preferred.

Ability to read, write and speak English.

Ability to follow written and oral instructions, including basic computer use.

Must meet all local health regulation requirements including a criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.

Current Montana state driver's license.

Schedule

Shifts will run 5 days a week Monday-Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Days worked and shift times are subject to change at the request of the manager.

Compensation

$16.37/hr. - $22.92/hr. depending on experience.

Education Requirements

High School Education or equivalent.

Experience

Previous medical center housekeeping experience required, including knowledge of infection control.

Prior leadership and/or managerial experience preferred.
