We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Contractor's Quality Control (QC) Technician to join our dynamic team. The Shop QC Technician will play a critical role in ensuring that our mechanical construction projects meet the highest standards of quality. If you are a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in mechanical contracting and quality assurance, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Control Oversight:

Inspect materials, products, and work in progress.

Inspect fabrications in process for compliance with specifications and drawings
-
Inspect welds for compliance with various codes
-
Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure proper assembly of parts or assist in testing and monitoring activities.
- Document Management:
-
Mark items for acceptance or rejection
-
Maintain welding documentation including, weld logs, welding procedures, and welder qualifications.

Maintain receiving and inspection documentation for received materials and equipment.
- Training and Education:
-
Support shop personnel in facilitating quality control processes, procedures, and best practices.

Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Supplier and Subcontractor Coordination:
-
Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure that materials and equipment meet specified quality standards.

Coordinate any 3rd party NDE/NDT required.

Skills and Requirements
Qualifications:

Punctual and dependable with a consistent attendance record.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical contracting with a focus on quality control.

Experience inspecting welds (with or without certification)

Experience in a fabrication shop environment

Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME Sec IX, B31.9, B31.3, B31.1, AWS D1.1, etc.).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in using quality management tools.

Proficiency in basic computer software applications (MS Office, PDF editing, etc.)

Experience in semiconductor and/or pharmaceutical industries is a plus.
