Full job description

We're looking for multiple Behavioral Health Advocates to join our Youth Recovery Center team! Must have a passion for working with teenagers!

We have multiple openings for days/evenings/nights/weekends!

As the Behavioral Health Advocate, you will:  

  • Monitors clients’ progress in treatment by providing group and individual education.

  • Assists with social skills training, aftercare planning, and individual assignments.

  • Assesses level of risk and makes appropriate clinical judgment for the resolution of client emergencies, resulting in a safe outcome.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises clients in complying with program rules, guidelines, and directives while they participate in all aspects of the program. 

  • Participates in evaluation of clients’ progress in weekly staff meetings and daily shift change. Assists in clients’ treatment planning. 

  • Encourages client motivation through one-to-one meetings. 

  • Completes required documentation on clients including observations of behavior changes in clients and accomplishment of treatment goals. 

  • Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings and in services to enhance 

  • Supports the milieu by intervening with behavioral concerns and encouraging clients’ social skills.  

  • Transports clients to community activities. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • BA/BS degree preferred

  • Must be willing to participate in certified addiction counselor training and complete Certified Addiction Specialist/Technician credential within 2 years of hire.

  • BLS through the American Heart Association or obtained within 30 days of hire.

 Skills:

  • At least 21 yrs of age

SALARY:

  • $ 20.00  to  28.87 /hour

  • Entry salary dependent upon education, skill set, and experience.
