Echodyne offers its radars to companies working in Automotive, Transportation, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Border Security, Smart Cities, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), and Airspace Management including Urban Air Mobility (UTM).

Echodyne is seeking a TEST ENGINEER II to focus on on-radar firmware. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, execute, and maintain test scenarios for complex embedded systems, radar firmware, and SDKs

  • Analyze product requirements and architecture to contribute to test strategies, coverage, and acceptance criteria for radar functionality and supported commands

  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test reports; manage defects through resolution

  • Perform manual, exploratory, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing to identify product risks, edge cases, and failure modes

  • Build and maintain automated tests where they provide clear value, contributing to existing frameworks

  • Collaborate with firmware, product, and software teams to improve testability and overall quality

  • Support test environments, automation infrastructure, and test execution across projects and releases

  • Promote strong testing practices and a quality-first mindset, participating in peer reviews and knowledge sharing

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience in software testing, firmware QA, or embedded systems test engineering roles

  • Experience validating feature-level behavior, supported device commands, and SDK interactions

  • Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and test design techniques for embedded systems

  • Experience with test automation, including writing and maintaining automated tests (Python preferred)

  • Experience working in environments with hardware and software dependencies, including flashing firmware and interacting directly with physical devices

  • Practical knowledge of Linux environments, Git workflows, and CI/CD concepts as applied to embedded systems

  • Understanding of software/firmware development practices, hardware debugging, defect investigation, and root cause analysis
