Full job description
Qogita has built a €250M+ annual business in Health & Beauty - primarily perfumes and skincare - and we know there is significant untapped potential within our existing categories. The Category Lead will own the effort to unlock it.
This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role with direct accountability for category GMV, sitting at the intersection of commercial strategy, deep market research, and hands-on execution. You will own the end-to-end process of identifying, diagnosing, and unlocking growth across your category - mapping market dynamics, diagnosing Qogita's internal gaps, designing targeted experiments, and coordinating cross-functional delivery to drive results. Your analysis and decisions will directly shape Qogita's midterm category strategy.
You will work closely with senior leadership with a clear mandate: grow GMV within your category, and build a repeatable playbook ready to scale. Category ownership & GMV growth: Own the commercial performance of your category. Set and drive against GMV targets, identifying the highest-leverage levers - supply depth, pricing, catalogue gaps, demand-side conversion - and ensuring they are acted on.
Category research & prioritisation: Map and rank H&B sub-categories using a combination of external signals and internal Qogita data. Build a prioritised shortlist of sub-categories for deep dive, based on a clear framework
Market deep dives: Conduct rigorous external assessments of selected sub-categories to identify precisely where Qogita can add value. Run buyer and supplier interviews to validate hypotheses and surface blockers directly from the market.
Internal diagnostics: Benchmark Qogita's current catalogue, pricing, and supply depth against market benchmarks. Identify which brands and GTINs are missing and why. Map the buyer-side blockers and quantify their impact on conversion.
Execution & cross-functional delivery: Translate diagnoses into concrete action plans with clear owners and timelines. Work across supply, product, and growth teams to close the gaps you've identified. Design and run business model experiments to test hypotheses where the standard playbook doesn't apply. This is a hands-on role; you're expected to make things happen, not just recommend them.
Playbook & strategy: Document learnings from each sub-category deep dive in a format ready to apply to the next one. The playbook is not a nice-to-have - it's a core deliverable. Contribute your commercial and analytical insight to shape Qogita's midterm category strategy
- 8+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, or a high-growth tech or e-commerce company Strong analytical skills - comfortable pulling and analysing data; skilled in use BI and AI tools Market research instincts - you know how to frame an ambiguous question, identify the relevant signals, and synthesise them into a clear, defensible point of view Commercial orientation - you care about outcomes, not just analysis. You connect research to revenue impact and know the difference between an interesting insight and an actionable one Clear communicator - you write with precision, structure arguments logically, and are equally effective in a spreadsheet, a stakeholder presentation, or a supplier conversation Self-starter - you prioritise effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and move fast without sacrificing rigour Natural curiosity and depth - you dig past the first layer. You're not satisfied with surface-level answers, and you instinctively look for the hidden dynamic or the second-order effect Bonus Qualifications Experience in wholesale, e-commerce, or marketplace businesses Comfortable with a scripting language for data cleaning, automation, or analysis tasks You've experimented with LLMs or AI agents for professional or personal projects - you're a tinkerer
