The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety, and conformance to plans, specifications, and codes. This role involves coordinating and supervising project inspection activities and acting as an Owner's Agent/Responsible in Charge.

Key focus areas include Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods, Perform routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials, and Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures.

Successful candidates bring High School Diploma/G.E.D., 10+ Years Roadway Construction Inspection Experience, and ACI Level I. Important skills include Review And Interpret Plans, Review And Interpret Site Layouts, Review And Interpret Specifications, Review And Interpret Construction Methods, Perform Routine Tests On Concrete, and Perform Routine Tests On Soils. Preferred (not required): KYTC Policies And Procedures, AASHTO SiteManager, and SiteManager Materials.

JMT is seeking a Senior Inspector to join their Kentucky Construction Management Team. The successful candidates will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.

Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations

Performs routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials

Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes

Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications and standards

Assign, schedule and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all phases of the project

Work on behalf of the Client to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction related field issues

Gathers and maintains record documents

Makes field notes and computations

Interact with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries

Required Skills

Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening

High school diploma or equivalent

10+ years of Roadway Construction Inspection Experience

ACI Level I

Aggregate Sampling Technician

KEPSCI-RI

Asphalt Field Technician

Preferred Experience

Associates or bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (may be substituted for experience)

Supervisory experience in construction management/inspection situations

Ability to act in an Owner's Agent/Responsible in Charge role

Working Conditions

Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
