Job Title: Shear and Brake Press Operator Job Description

Seeking a skilled Shear and Brake Press Operator to accurately cut and bend materials. This role involves interpreting blueprints to determine precise sizes and angles for material cutting and bending. Training is provided for all candidates. The position is available on the first shift.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine material specifications.

  • Operate shear and brake press machines to cut and bend materials.

  • Measure materials accurately using a tape measure.

  • Lift materials weighing between 50-100 lbs.

  • Stand for extended periods up to 10 hours.

  • Perform basic math calculations including addition and subtraction.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in reading a tape measure.

  • Ability to lift 50-100 lbs.

  • Exposure to blueprints.

  • Basic math skills (adding and subtracting).

  • Strong learning ability.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with press brake operation.

  • Experience with shear operation.

Work Environment

Work in a shop environment that can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Steel toe boots are required. The position operates during the hours of 6 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and occasionally from 6 AM to 11 AM on Saturdays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Clemens, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
