Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Patient Access Services Lead / Financial Counselor to support and lead the daily operations of Patient Access Services. This role is responsible for overseeing registration processes, up-front and point-of-service (POS) collections, cash handling, and financial counseling. The Lead will serve as a key resource for staff and patients, ensuring efficient workflows, excellent customer service, and accurate data collection.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support daily front-line operations of Patient Access Services.

Conduct professional patient interviews to obtain demographic, financial, and biographical information.

Accurately and efficiently process patient registrations.

Oversee and participate in cash collections, up-front payments, and POS transactions.

Provide financial counseling to patients regarding insurance, coverage, and payment options.

Work closely with the Patient Access Manager to ensure effective departmental performance and compliance with policies and procedures.

Promote a culture of quality, service excellence, and patient-centered care.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
-
Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience required.

Prefer at least 2 years of clerical experience with proficiency in Microsoft Windows.
Other Requirements:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must complete the required Patient Access Services training and pass the competency exam with a score of 90% or higher.

Strong computer and data entry skills.

Ability to multitask, think critically, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
