Job Title: Manual Machinist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist with a proven track record in machining brackets, fixtures, and other components for food processing machinery. The ideal candidate will have the expertise to operate various machines and fabricate parts based on detailed blueprints and sketches.

Responsibilities

  • Operate mills, lathes, saws, presses, grinders, and other machinery.

  • Perform lockout tagout procedures on machinery to ensure safety.

  • Create and fabricate parts using blueprints and sketches.

  • Conduct setups on all machinery and ensure proper operation.

  • Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

  • Inspect and verify parts using precision gauges such as micrometers and calipers, and dial indicators.

  • Conduct equipment checks and maintenance at proper intervals to ensure optimal performance.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience as a manual machinist.

  • Proficiency in operating mills and lathes.

  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical sketches.

  • Ownership and use of personal tools.

  • Experience with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with troubleshooting and saw operation.

  • Ability to create basic drawings by hand.

Work Environment

This position is based in a clean shop environment with a team of 20-25 professionals. The dress code requires work pants/jeans and steel toe boots. The role offers a first shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with an expectation of 5-12 hours of overtime per week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FRANKFORT, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
