Job Description:

Full Time Nights - 6.00-night differentials

10K sign on bonus for eligible candidates

  • Demonstrates knowledge of techniques and treatment modalities for patients of varying ages, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric.

  • Follows best practices to reduce potential medication errors. Performs all duties and responsibilities for the assigned shift.

  • Documents all pertinent data on the patient’s medical record after completing service.

  • Administers respiratory therapy treatments, understanding the purpose and possible side effects of each.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment, remaining alert to possible side effects.

  • Follows departmental equipment sterilization procedures.

  • Sets up and monitors mechanical ventilators, including airway management and tracheal suctioning.

  • Performs arterial punctures to obtain blood samples for gas analysis, understanding complications and contraindications.

  • Assesses patient needs and tolerance for treatment, reassessing responses to therapy.

  • Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly, inspecting and testing to ensure functionality.

  • Formulates and evaluates teaching plans based on patient learning needs, including family involvement as appropriate.

  • Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of health care field and medical terminology [Required]

  • Ability to provide optimal respiratory support including administration of oxygen and Heliox, administration of inhaled medications, lung expansion, and bronchial hygiene therapy [Required]

  • Ability to appropriately initiate, operate, manage, and liberate non-invasive and invasive modes of mechanical ventilation [Required]

  • Ability to perform ABG Puncture, analysis, arterial cannulation using sterile procedure, and hemodynamic monitoring [Required]

  • Ventilator patient transportation [Required]

  • Knowledge and skill to care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient in a health care delivery system [Required]

  • Prior use of electronic medical records (EMR) [Preferred] Education:

  • Associate's [Required] Field of Study:

  • in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science Work Experience:

  • 1+ years experience as a respiratory therapist [Preferred] Additional Information:

  • For Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist: NBRC credential must be maintained as a condition of continued role eligibility.

  • All States : require NBRC for new hires, and incumbents

  • Florida Exception: legacy incumbents may continue working and may transfer within Florida without a NBRC active credential, subject to an approved, time -limited transition period. Licenses and Certifications:

  • State Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) [Required] OR State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required]

  • Active NBRC Credentialed Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) [Preferred]
