We are seeking applicants for a Machinist in our International Falls, MN Paper Mill. The International Falls facility is a White Paper Mill owned by Packaging Corporation of America.

Responsibilities:

Work as part of a team in support of a paper manufacturing operation with a goal of increasing productivity; decreasing downtime and waste.

Ability to create, interpret, and read prints for fabrication of components.

Ability to use precision measuring equipment for precision fabrication and machining of components.

Ability to operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, radial drill press, band saws, threading equipment, grinding equipment, and general machine shop equipment.

Perform pump repair, arc welding, proper rigging, alignment.

Ability to use mobile cranes, lifts, and hoists.

Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.

Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED.

Completion of a 2-year technical program plus experience as a maintenance machinist or equivalent training and experience.

Able to pass pre-employment physical and drug test.

Must be able to sit, stoop, and bend.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Must have a valid current driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a paper or other manufacturing environment.

Machinist training and certification are a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Must have experience and skills operating Milling machines, lathes, CNC operated machines, drill presses, and grinders.

Proficient with measuring tools of the machinist trade.

Able to analyze and resolve mechanical problems with design and fabrication of parts.

Able to work around mechanical components safely, troubleshoot in a safe manner, taking all precautions needed to protect yourself and those working with you.

Must be willing to work closely on a day-to-day basis with other production personnel.

Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.

Thrive in a cross-functional team environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly salary range for position: $32.61 (76% Apprentice) to $57.88

Paid Vacation.

Paid Holidays.

Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages -- medical, dental, and vision - and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages.

Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions.
